Stress Management during COVID-19:

Due to Covid-19 almost entire world is in lockdown. In India PM Narendra Modi has extended the lockdown till 31st May 2020. This lockdown may be a pleasure for some but some people might be struggling during this period. Covid-19 can be the cause of stress and anxiety also which is normal and it can be managed as well. Let’s take a look at the symptoms and how you can manage them.

How to Cope With Stress?

·       We need to train our mind to manage things better and these things include which are positive coping. For ex- If you are watching the T.V, watch something that makes you happy or lighten up your mood then watching the things that can create stress.

·       Try to contact old friends which are out of touch since many years. Calling old friends will make you delighted and relaxed.

Talk to your near and dear one’s. Even if you feel like not talking to them still try to have a good conversation with them over something that interests you both other than the pandemic.  Try video calls to talk to relatives.

Exercise Daily

Daily do some sort of exercise in the house for example skipping, stairs climbing etc. Moderate skipping will open up your body.

Reducing Anxiety

Unfortunately, this gets triggered any time we perceive a threat and with everything that’s going on in the world right now, it’s easy to become anxious about our health, the health of our loved ones, the economy and our future.

The point of fear-based emotions such as stress is to prepare us for emergencies, which is positive, however, when we trigger the stress response many times a day, we begin to live in world of stress with too much adrenaline and lactic acid, which make us feel fatigued and weakens our immune system.

So, positive stress is being prepared for emergencies and negative stress is when we overprepare and weaken ourselves.
